The goal of this course is to give an introduction to a broad range of state-of-the-art chemical biology methods and to provide a forum for active cross-communication. We will encourage the participants to apply methods of this interdisciplinary field to answer their biological questions. Emphasis will be on chemical protein engineering methods, proteomics methods, screening techniques and in vivo protein labelling as well as enzyme activity probes. Thereby, emphasis will be on (commercial) availability of the methods and reagents and on understanding of the chemical methods. Participants will do hands-on experiments supervised by experts in the field and will have plenty of time to discuss their own research problems with teachers and invited speakers.
