Nuclear reprogramming and prospects for cell replacement therapy

Introduction
There is great interest at present in the possibility of achieving cell replacement for diseased and aged tissues. This can be done at present by use of cloning, stem cells, and gene transfection. This lecture will discuss progress in this field.
