Faraday Community poster symposium

Introduction

Introduction

For the first time, the Faraday Community for Physical Chemistry brings together PhD students, Post-Doctoral researchers and early career researchers in industry.

This poster symposium provides a fantastic opportunity for researchers to showcase their research and network with peers, leading academics, and industrial chemists.
 
Each presenter will give a short flash talk and present their posters in a poster session at the RSC’s facilities at Burlington House, London.

Our judges will recognise the best posters on the day for several prizes.

A qualified career and professional development adviser for the Royal Society of Chemistry will be available for free one-to-one, confidential consultations on any aspect of your career. Consultations are available for all meeting attendees and can be booked using the link on this page.

Career discussion panel

The Faraday Community poster symposium will host a career panel discussion.
Invited speakers from industry and academia will give a brief overview of their careers, followed by a panel discussion and a short question and answer session led by a member of the RSC Careers team.
Abstract Submission

Abstract submission is now closed.


The poster symposium is open to all PhD students, Post-doctoral researchers and industrial researchers of equivalent experience working on any area related to physical chemistry in its broadest interpretation.
 
The best abstract submissions will be invited to present their posters at the symposia, and successful entrants will be contacted within one month of the abstract deadline.

Poster presenters will be offered travel bursaries to support their attendance, and there will be no registration fee.
 
Poster presenters will present a flash presentation on the day; this will be a 1-minute slot with one slide to be submitted before the event.
 
Prizes will be awarded to the best posters presented on the day, as determined by our judging panel, and there will also be a participant's prize.
Registration

Poster presenters will be offered travel bursaries to support their attendance, and there will be no registration fee.

Travel bursaries

The Faraday Community for Physical Chemistry can contribute towards the cost of travel for all poster presenters as outlined below:

London-based £10
Up to 150 miles £100
Over 150 miles £150

Only travel expenses for this event are eligible for the contribution.

Further details of the scheme and how to apply for the financial support will be provided to successful applciants with the registration information.
