Introduction
Chemometrics is the science of extracting information from complex data systems. The key to success in chemometric multivariate modeling is hence high quality data management. Identifying features and patterns in the data that leads to information, which becomes knowledge when the patterns and their implications is realized and understood. The SSC conferences are biannual and rotate amongst the Nordic countries. The first Scandinavian Symposium on Chemometrics was held in 1989 in Lappeenranta, Finland. The 13:th meeting is now organized by the Chemometrics division within the Swedish Chemical Society.
