Automation and Analytical Management Group
The Automation and Analytical Management Group is one of the RSC's many Interest Groups. The Interest Groups are member driven groups which exist to benefit RSC members, and the wider chemical science community, in line with the RSC's strategy and charter.
The primary objective of the Group is to extend the knowledge, understanding and application of all aspects of automated analytical and process chemistry. This includes the use of information technology to acquire and manage analytical data, to administer laboratory operations and to process and store derived management information.
The role of the Group is to provide a forum for the discussion of those aspects of analytical methodology which use, or could usefully benefit from, automation to:
- control the analytical process
- convert the data produced into meaningful information
- manage its subsequent storage or transmission to the point of use.
The scope of these activities covers both laboratory and process applications.
The Group's objectives are achieved through lectures, symposia and similar events sponsored by the Group itself, or in conjunction with a Region or another Group of the Analytical Division, or with any other relevant body having objectives that are consistent with those of the RSC.
We also have an online community, which is based on MyRSC, for anyone who shares our interests.
We are always looking for new members who are keen to get involved and to help organise our activities. If you would like to find out more please contact the Secretary.
