Process Technology Group
The Process Technology Group (PTG) is concerned with every aspect of chemical processing on an industrial scale.
Most of the Group's members are industrial chemists, working in industry as plant managers, process designers, control or analytical specialists, material technologists etc: others are among the select group of academic chemists who retain an interest in the industrial application of the subject.
Mission Statement
The Process Technology Group:
- organises scientific meetings, usually one-day symposia held in the UK: recent meetings have focused on topics such as catalysis, pharmaceutical tabletting, pilot plants, clean fuels, molecular distillation, natural gas processing and biological waste disposal
- sponsors specialist reviews on broad areas of process technology, including rheology, emulsions and the handling of wet solids
- publishes a bi-annual Bulletin to keep members in touch with developments and to provide a forum for discussion
- maintains a Register of the details of the professional interests of the membership: this is distributed only to those members who have submitted entries to the Register.
- provides a focal point for chemical engineers within the RSC
- maintains a dialogue with the Industry and Technology Forum on process-related matters.
