The Alan Tetlow Memorial Bursary
John Alan Tetlow, who died, aged 70, in February 2005, was one of the founder members of the RSC Water Chemistry Forum (now the Water Science Forum). Alan retired as a Regional Manager in the then National Rivers Authority and devoted many years of his life to improving the quality of the water environment in England and Wales. Most importantly he helped to raise the profile of the water chemist within both the RSC and the water industry.
The Water Science Forum Committee wanted to commemorate Alan’s work in a way that would reflect many of the things that he was trying to achieve. Consequently, after much thought, and with permission and support from Alan’s family, we have decided to rename the Water Science Forum bursary, which was established in 1997, the Alan Tetlow Memorial Bursary.
