Applied Catalysis Group

The Applied Catalysis Group is a part of the RSC Industry and Technology Forum and exists to bring together and cover the interests of all members who have a professional interest in applied catalysis

The Applied Catalysis Group promotes the application of established and novel catalytic science for the commercial and sustainable production of all types of chemical product including industrial intermediates, pharmaceuticals and consumer products, for the protection of the environment and for any other purpose that is of benefit to society.

Responsibilities and Activities

  • Bring together and cover the interests of all RSC members who have a professional interest in applied catalysis;
  • Address all types of catalysis – heterogeneous, homogeneous, enzymatic;
  • Promote the application of established and novel catalytic science for the commercial and sustainable production of energy & all types of chemical product - petrochemicals; industrial intermediates; pharmaceuticals; fine chemicals; consumer products, for the protection of the environment and for any other purpose that is of benefit to society;
  • Sponsor the development and sharing of "best practice" among people and organisations working in the field of applied catalysis;
  • Create and support links between interested parties working in related areas in industry and universities;
  • Organise specialist conferences and workshops, which examine important aspects of applied catalysis.

Some examples of our work are included on the "Previous ACG Events" page.
