Sir Edward Frankland Fellowship


The Sir Edward Frankland Fellowship is presented for the encouragement of research in organometallic chemistry or the co-ordination chemistry of transition metals.

Rules and Criteria


  • Run biennially 
  • Open to scientists working in the UK only
  • Candidates are permitted to nominate themselves
  • Candidates must be 36 years old or below on 31 January 2011.  The age specified is intended to guide nominators and selection panelists; appropriate consideration will be given to those who have taken career breaks or followed different study paths.
  • Name and contact details of two referees required who will be contacted by the RSC - these may not include the candidate's post-doc or PhD supervisor
  • One page CV for the candidate which should include their date of birth, website URL, summary of education and career, a list of 5 relevant publications, total numbers of publications and patents
  • A one page supporting statement addressing the selection criteria
  • Nominations open on 1 September 2010
  • Nominations close on 31 January 2011 
  • Award winner will be chosen by the Dalton Division Awards Committee
  • Award winner receives £2000, a medal and a certificate
