About the winner


Chris Hunter was educated at the University of Cambridge and graduated with a PhD in 1989.  He was a lecturer at the University of Otago from 1989 till 1991, when he moved to the University of Sheffield.  

He was promoted to a personal chair in 1997, and elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2008.  He was a Lister Institute Research Fellow and is currently an EPSRC Senior Research Fellow and Professor of Chemistry at the University of Sheffield.  

His research is at the chemistry-biology interface, and he has interests in various aspects of molecular recognition, design, synthesis, measurement and theory.
