Travel Grants for PhD Students and Early Career Scientists
Please note that we are no longer accepting applications in 2017 to the Chemistry-Biology Interface Division, Faraday Division or the Organic Division.
Please also note that from 1 April, all applicants will need to have been RSC members (of at least Associate level) for at least one year.
Our Divisions are keen to support participation by PhD students and early career scientists in scientific conferences and workshops.
Grants are available to cover domestic (up to £200), continental (up to £400) and intercontinental (up to £800) travel to meetings where applicants give oral or poster presentations (we will also consider applicants not intending to present if their attendance will be a significant benefit to their career). Please note that these grants are intended for travel only and applicants should not apply for conference registration, subsistence or accommodation expenses.
We also have a limited number of non-competitive travel grants of up to £200 for PhD and early career scientists participating in RSC conferences within their home country. These are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
Please note that we recommend you submit your application a minimum of three months before you need a decision. We will be unable to consider any applications received within 8 weeks of the start of the conference.
