ISACS17: Challenges in Chemical Renewable Energy

Introduction
This conference brought together leading scientists from across the world to share scientific developments in renewable energy generation and storage.

The themes for this conference were:

Solar Fuels and molecular catalysis
Photovoltaics
Biofuels
Battery technology/energy storage
Fuel cells

Brazil is considered to have the world's first sustainable biofuels economy. Renewable energy accounted for more than 85.4% of the domestically produced electricity used in Brazil, according to preliminary data from the 2009 National Energy Balance, conducted by the Energy Research Corporation (EPE).

There were two poster prizes awarded at ISACS17 sponsored by Chemistry World and Chemical Science. Tjey were won by the following posters:
