The Environmental Research Institute is pleased to be hosting the 17th European Meeting on Environmental Chemistry (EMEC) which will be held in Inverness, Scotland from the 30th of November to the 2nd of December, 2016.
The EMEC is organised annually on behalf of the Association of Chemistry and the Environment (ACE). It traditionally comprises of a broad range of topics within the field of environmental chemistry and interdisciplinary presentations are very welcome. The EMEC meeting always attracts high quality science presentations and keynote talks from internationally renowned researchers.
EMEC 17 will provide a wide forum for the exchanges of ideas on recent advances in research and development in environmental chemistry and technology, for people from academia, research, and industry. Contributions are invited in the following areas:
- Soil Chemistry, Including Contamination and Remediation Technologies -
- Water Chemistry Including Pollution, Treatment, Reuse, Marine, and Freshwater Chemistry -
- Atmospheric Chemistry Including Air Pollution, Transport and Modelling -
- Environmental Processes and Reactions -
- Ecotoxicology and Biomarkers -
- Green Chemistry and Green Technologies -
- Waste Management and Recycling -
- Analytical Methods for Environmental Science -
- Food Chemistry -
- Emerging Contaminants -
- Sustainable Development, Life Cycle Assessment, Risk Assessment -
In addition to the main conference, delegates may also have opportunities to attend half-day 'special sessions' on nominated contemporary topics.
EMEC 17 will also feature a full social programme including conference dinner, céilidh and afternoon trip that will allow delegates to experience some of the culture, food, and drink of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
