Guest of Honour
Matthew Clarke, Deputy Director, Nuclear Generation and International, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (Subject to Departmental business)

This conference will discuss priorities for the future of the UK nuclear industry, looking at international relationships and the supply chain going forward, as well legal, regulatory and investment issues - and the development of an industrial strategy for nuclear.

It follows the decision on Hinkley Point C and the launch of the Government’s Industrial Strategy green paper. It also takes place in the context of the UK leaving the European Union and Euratom, with discussion on strategy options for forging new alliances and agreements for global supply chain access, and for securing new sources of investment.

Further sessions will consider the latest developments in nuclear technology, including the potential role of SMR technology, as well as latest thinking on the environmental impact of nuclear projects - particularly in the areas of waste and decommissioning - and the strategies the industry is developing to deal with the issues
