14th European Biological Inorganic Chemistry Conference (EuroBIC 14)

26 - 30 August 2018, Birmingham, United Kingdom

Introduction

The European Biological Inorganic Chemistry Conference (EuroBIC) series is one of the premier international Bioinorganic meetings, associated with the international learned Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry.  Featuring leading researchers from across the world, EuroBIC provides a major platform to present and discuss the latest developments in all fields at the interface between Inorganic Chemistry and the Life Sciences.  All topics in the field of Bioinorganic Chemistry are welcome at the conference including the broader emerging areas where it interfaces with Nanoscience, Synthetic Biology and Supramolecular Chemistry.

The conference will take place at the University of Birmingham.
Birmingham is located in the heart of England, just 1hour 20 minutes from London by train.  It is Britain’s second city, with many museums and art galleries, and is also close to Shakespere’s Stratford upon Avon and the beautiful medieval castles of Warwick and Kenilworth.  It is noted both for its international cuisine and as a shopping destination.  It has beautiful canals which can be explored on traditional canal barges.

In Birmingham the meeting itself will take place on the University campus which has its own train station and is just 5 minutes travel from the city centre. High quality accommodation is available at reasonable prices either at the city centre or at the Halls of Residence at the University

Getting to Birmingham is relatively easy:   Birmingham has an international airport with flights direct to the east coast of the USA as well as to all the major European hubs;  the airport is just 10 minutes by train from the city centre.  Alternatively, if you prefer to avoid flight connections, London Heathrow has direct flights from around the world and you can travel on to Birmingham by train (2h 30, changing in central London) or coach (also 2h 30 but goes direct) or taxi (around 2 hours).
