Introduction
Join us for the 2019 joint lecture for Thames Valley chemists and biologists.
This presentation will review how human respiratory physiology is compromised by flying at altitude and the methods used to maintain adequate tissue oxygenation in military crew members. Means of protecting the occupants of civilian passenger aircraft will also be described, including the latest technology. The topic strays into the realm of chemistry as well as biology and explores some elegant engineering solutions.

The evening will start with light refreshments.
The event is free for members of the RSC and their guests, but pleases register via email to enable catering to be provided.
