IEX2020: Ion Exchange Technical Training

6 July 2020 09:00 - 7 July 2020 17:00, Cambridge, United Kingdom

Introduction
Training Course

This SCI sponsored training course is intended to provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for chemists and engineers who are involved with the specification, design, operation and maintenance of ion exchange water purification plant.

Previous IEX event training courses have received wide acclaim from attendees.

The IEX Conference will follow the technical training courses for more information please visit www.soci.org/iex2020

Attendees

The course is designed for utilities engineers, plant supervisors, chemists and others needing a better understanding of water purification by ion exchange. It will also be of value to graduate trainees in consultancies, EPC contractors, operating companies and water treatment plant suppliers. Delegates should have a good knowledge of chemistry, basic hydraulics and plant equipment.

Programme

Introduction to Ion Exchange Design and Operation for Industrial Water Treatment - Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 July 2020

The focus of this course is to provide a good basic understanding of the design basis and operation of ion exchange plants for water treatment, from raw water quality and pre-treatment through to monitoring, control and troubleshooting. The presentations are centred around the ion exchange process itself, explaining how ion exchange resins are manufactured and activated, the different generic resin types and how the process selection is based on the ion exchange resin properties to achieve the desired treated water quality.

This course is designed for utilities engineers, plant supervisors, chemists and those needing a better understanding of water purification by ion exchange.

Advanced Plant design for Ion Exchange Industrial Water Treatment - Monday 6 and Tuesday 7July 2020

The focus of this course is to give a more detailed knowledge on the design of Ion Exchange Plants including, design options, resin section, plant sizing and modelling.  Sessions are included on advanced plant operations and troubleshooting.

The course is designed for Process Engineers, Consultants and Managers involved in plant specification, design and operation of industrial water treatment plants. It would be expected that participants would have three years’ experience on Water Treatment Plant design or operations.
