EICC-1: First EuCheMS Inorganic Chemistry Conference

11 - 14 April 2011, Manchester, United Kingdom

Introduction
The Dalton Division of the RSC joined together with the EuCheMS Inorganic Division (EID) to host the first edition in a new European conference series in Inorganic Chemistry.

Themes
Inorganic Chemistry is a buoyant subject area with major developments being seen in all branches of the subject and common themes emerging; this timely conference arranged across parallel sessions brought all these themes together.
  • Supramolecular and Co-ordination Chemistry
  • Organometallic and Catalysis
  • Reaction Mechanisms
  • Inorganic Materials
  • Energy and Photochemistry
  • Bioinorganic and Metallic Enzymes
  • Main Group Chemistry
  • Solid State Chemistry

Aims
Showcasing the work of the very best inorganic chemists in the world as well as posters and an exhibition, the conference provided excellent learning and networking opportunities.

A central aim of the conference was to promote the development of the new generation of inorganic chemists, enabling them to form new contacts across the EU through the presentation of their work in oral and poster format, and through the many networking opportunities the conference provided.
