Nanopores Conference 2012

6 - 10 February 2012, Lanzarote, Spain

Introduction
Synopsis Biological and solid-state nanopores are an exciting field of research which has seen rapid development over the last 10 to 20 years. Activities in this area range from theoretical and experimental work on the underlying (bio)physics to applications in biosensing and DNA sequencing. While the prospect of DNA sequencing continues to be one of the major scientific and commercial driving forces, there are numerous other applications with potentially similar impact. These have just begun to emerge and are being explored by dozens of research groups around the world. ?
This conference will be perfectly suited to showcase and highlight the achievements of nanopore research that has been taking place over the past couple of years. Having a conference dedicated to this topic will result in a unique opportunity to share information amongst research groups often not accessible in the published literature. ?
The meeting will bring together a group of world leading experts in the area of nanopore research. Importantly participants will come from both academia and industry; therefore, the conference will be designed in a format to maximize discussions between all attendees. ?
?Nanopores for Bioanalytical Applications? will include sessions that cover recent advances on experimental and theoretical work within the field. Selections of specific topics that will be covered include biological pores, solid state pores, hybrid structures, fundamental aspects, and applications. ?
The high quality conference all-inclusive venue not only provides excellent facilities for the meeting, but also provides an excellent backdrop for networking and scientific discussions.
