Opening of the Innovation Centre in Digital Molecular Technologies (iDMT)

Introduction
The Grand Opening of the Innovation Centre in Digital Molecular Technologies (iDMT), including newly refurbished lab and office space, will take place on the morning of Friday 26th November 2021. ​

This event will be composed of an opening ceremony as well as a showcase with presentations from SMEs who have received support from the iDMT, University of Cambridge academic groups and the iDMT's industrial partners.

09:15 - 10:00 Grand Opening
  • Professor Andy Neely OBE, University of Cambridge Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise and Business Relations
  • Professor Alexei Lapkin, Director of the iDMT and Professor of Sustainable Reaction Engineering
  • Professor Matthew Gaunt, Co-director of the iDMT and the Yusuf Hamied 1702 Professor of Chemistry
10:00 - 10:30 Lab Tours
The opening will also include virtual lab tours of our facilities, during which questions from attendees on the capabilities of the lab will be welcomed.

10:30 - 12:00 iDMT Showcase
This will be followed by an iDMT showcase during which we will hear about:
  • aspects of the scientific foundation behind the iDMT from leading University of Cambridge academics,
  • case studies of how the iDMT provides support for small businesses from the first iDMT-SME partnerships, and
  • the importance of digitalisation from the iDMT’s industrial partners.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions and comment on the presentations.
