Grazing-angle X-ray diffraction

Definition: A method for determining structure by directing a beam of X-rays at the sample and detecting the positions and intensities of the diffracted X-rays as a pattern of spots on a photographic plate. The incident X-ray beam strikes the sample at a small angle (<5 deg.) close to the critical angle of total external X-ray reflection.
