The symposium will include presentations dealing with:

  • New techniques for measurement of the rheological properties of polymer solutions and gels
  • Developments in theoretic modelling to describe the rheological behaviour and dynamics of polymer solutions and gels
  • Shear and extensional viscosity and viscoelastic properties of novel polymeric thickeners, associating polymers, polymer-surfactant complexes, polymer mixtures 
  • Mechanisms of polymer gelation
  • Rheology and dynamics of polymer gels including sheared gels and gels formed from mixed polymer systems
  • The role of polymers in controlling the rheology of liquids, complex fluids and soft solid systems
