Work Experience
If you're interested in pursuing a career in the chemical sciences, it may be a good idea to get some work experience.

Finding a suitable placement can be difficult but companies and universities look very highly on students who have the enthusiasm and independence to hunt for a relevant position. There are many ways of finding a placement:
- Your school may run a work experience scheme which can put you in touch with relevant companies
- You can look in the yellow pages for relevant firms and phone/write to them, directing your correspondence to either the 'Schools/Education Liaison Officer' or the 'Human Resources/Community Liaison Department'.
- You could contact your Local Section of the RSC to find out if they have contacts with local companies.
