PCCP has the highest immediacy index!

Newly-released ISI citation data show that PCCP has the highest immediacy index of any physical chemistry journal.

The immediacy index is a measure of how topical and urgent the papers published by a journal are. The immediacy index is calculated by dividing the number of citations to articles published in a given year by the number of articles published in that year.

We're delighted to announce that the latest PCCP immediacy index is 0.745 - higher than any of our competitors, and more than double the 'physical chemistry' subject category aggregate index of 0.381. We would like to thank all of our authors, referees and readers for making this happen.

The PCCP impact factor has also risen for the fourth consecutive year. The new impact factor is 2.076 - its highest ever level.

The figures reinforce PCCP's position as the journal of choice for publishing urgent new work. Coupled with our fastest publication times of as little as 9 days, PCCP is the home for exciting new research in physical chemistry, chemical physics and biophysical chemistry.
