His current research interests are focused on developing optical and mass spectrometric techniques for biomedical and environmental analysis, including the nanomaterial-based chemiluminescence sensor arrays, the ICPMS-based immunoassays and ambient ion source for mass spectrometry. He published over 150 papers on international journals and several book chapters on the topics. He chaired the 11th International Symposium on Luminescence Spectrometry.
