School Science Lessons
This site contains a database of
school science experiments from the School of Education, University of
Queensland. It has been written as a resource for rural schools in developing
countries, but there are many useful experiments here for any science teacher,
irrespective of country. Each experiment has been chosen as a simple and
inexpensive way of displaying the idea.
The content is divided into the
various fields of science, and covers experimental work at both primary and
secondary level. Each of the topics gives a list of experiments which, in turn,
reveal outline facts and details of experimental procedures.
The amount of descriptive detail in
the experiments is designed to be the minimum needed for doing the experiment
by a trained chemistry teacher, and some background information is included to
remind teachers of the theoretical context of the experiment. Users should
check experimental details and risk assess each activity before carrying it
out, as safety information is not always given.
As a basic resource of traditional
experimental work that could be done in all areas of science, this free
