AS Level Chemistry Revision Day

27 May 2015, Lancaster, United Kingdom

Introduction
Getting signs the wrong way round in Hess’ Law calculations? Getting arrows all mixed up in mechanisms? Which side do the electrons go on in redox equations? Be an endothermic reaction – come along and get some positive energy/confidence input! We may even throw a metal ore into the mix – how would we extract the metal?
The day will focus on the more challenging, tricky bits of the AS level, with an emphasis on energy changes, organic mechanisms and redox. A short teaching session will feature top tips and lots of interaction, with supported workshops to help develop understanding and refine that all important exam technique. Also included in the day will be a tour of the chemistry department at Lancaster University with the opportunity to find out what studying chemistry there is all about.
