Introduction
Innovate UK  is the UK’s innovation agency with a core budget of £561m for 2016/17 to fund, support and grow business-led innovation in the UK. The Innovate UK Delivery Plan 2016/17introduced a new, simpler sector grouping to funding programmes and commits to running two ‘open’ competitions per year from any sector, as well as two broad competitions per year from the following sector groups:
  • Emerging & Enabling Technologies
  • Health & Life Sciences
  • Infrastructure Systems
  • Manufacturing & Materials
