Introduction
LATi ExpertExchange on Artifical Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning to be held on Thursday, 27 April at Nottingham Trent University (NTU)  Clifton Campus from 2:30pm to 6:00pm.

LATi 2017 AI ExpertExchange will look at what is happening in the world of Artifical Intelligence and Machine Learning, the applications the technology is being used for, and the implications for technology, engineering and scientific businesses. 

Hear from local technology and scientific enterprises who are developing powerful commercial applications for the healthcare sectors. 

Outstanding industry speakers

Christopher Barnatt, is to talk about AI and the future of computing is a well-known futurist and respected author.

The title of Christopher's talk is 'Beyond AI Denial’, and explores the latest developments in AI and machine learning, including customer service and medical applications, and the 'trojan horse' roll-out of virtual assistants and autonomous vehicles.

Christopher runs ExplainingTheFuture.com, and advises clients on future challenges and future technologies. He has published twelve books, including The Next Big Thing, 3D Printing, Seven Ways to Fix the World, and 25 Things You Need to Know about the Future.

Martin Kearn, a technical evangelist for Microsoft is to show us how accessible Machine Learning is, the basics around the Azure Machine Learning service, and look at some of the Microsoft Cognitive Servives APIs, which make it easy to implement intelligence 'smarts' into an application.

Martin Kearn is a technical evangelist for Microsoft based in the UK. In his role, Martin talks with customers, partners, start-ups and anyone who is willing to listen about developing applications on the Microsoft platform. This includes Windows, Office, Microsoft Azure and Web technologies including ASP.net and the Edge browser. Martin has been working with Microsoft development technologies since the late 90's and has been working for Microsoft directly since 2005.

Aamir Butt, CEO of Tumour Trace is to talk about how and why the company uses AI to as part of their cancer diagnosis. He will share lessons learnt and the commercial opportunities for high tech and scientific enterprises, in particular the healthcare sector.

Aamir has 20-years experience of starting and selling his own businesses, and supporting over 90 other businesses, taking new products to new markets is at the heart of his expertise. Aamir has built scalable business models across several verticals including health, medtech, digital and service industries. 

Tumour Trace develop innovative, patented cancer screening and diagnostic technology. Based on peer review research their in-vitro portable screening device has been validated following proof of concepts in the UK, Serbia and India. The company's vision is to enable screening covering all cancers to be available to everyone, everywhere

Dr Mitch Grigoriu, MD of AES Group, will talk about his experience of developing AI applications with a case study of AI in engineering. He will also present his perspective on the opportunities and business/technological challenges created by the latest developments in AI and Machine Learning.

Mitch founded the company in 1989 to develop and commercialise the results of his research into AI which he did at the University of Nottingham. He is the chief architect/designer and developer of several highly successful AI systems which have been in use for many years in Defence, Industry and Healthcare.
