We will be running a training session on Saturday 30 September 2017 to train mentors who would like to be part of our mentoring scheme for probationer teachers in Scotland.This scheme is based on our award winning mentoring scheme that we currently run for Royal Society of Chemistry members.
We will provide full training on the day to equip you with the skills to provide mentoring support to a probationary teacher. The training will include the opportunity to practice mentoring techniques.You will also have the chance to meet with the mentees over lunch.
We will match you to a mentee after the event, and so the ‘matching’ will take place in October 2017. We will try to match mentees with mentors in similar geographical areas, but not with people at the same school, and will consider everyone’s interests and hobbies in the process. Once you have registered we will ask you to complete a short survey to gather this information.

Mentors find the experience of helping another member rewarding as they help them to grow and 'address their own challenges, considering their relationships at work and thinking of the future'.
