Virtual Workshop: searching crystal structure data in the CSD with ConQuest and WebCSD

4 May 2022 15:00-16:45, Cambridge, United Kingdom

Introduction
The Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) contains data from over 1.1 million crystal structures. You can use the wealth of information in the database to inform and enhance your research, investigate and analyse the geometry of groups and molecules, and much more.

In this free virtual workshop, you will learn how to use the CCDC's searching desktop software, ConQuest , and the website browser-based tool, WebCSD, to find structures relevant to your work.

We will cover:
  • The basics of ConQuest searching.
  • Use of some advanced query options.
  • Introduction to WebCSD.
  • The differences between searching with ConQuest and with WebCSD.
Requirements:
  • This is an entry-level session, anyone can join and no previous experience is required.
  • The CSD Software installed and an active CSD-Core (or above*) license. (*CSD-Discovery, CSD-Materials, or CSD-Enterprise. All academic licenses include the software we use in this workshop.) A temporary licence is available to cover the workshop, please state if you do not have a licence when registering.
This event will be recorded and all registered participants will have access to the recording.
