Catalysis journey of Dr David Parker

21 February 2024 17:00-19:00, Middlesbrough, United Kingdom

Introduction
The presentation will cover David’s work with catalysis during his working career. Examples are taken from the laboratory to full industrial plant scale.
Both homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions are covered, and how in some cases this led to significant commercial advantage.
David has had the pleasure of collaborating with many fellow scientists over the years, in industry and academia and the talk will reflect the advantages of these collaborations. We will also explore how this helped with career development within and post ICI.
Although there are obvious technical aspects to the talk it should be regarded as of general interest with no knowledge of the field of catalysis necessary.
Refreshments from 5 pm in the Stephenson Foyer, lecture starts from 5:30 pm until about 6:30 to 7 pm.
Limited free parking available for externals – kindly email the Secretary Anirudh at a.sharma@tees.ac.uk, teesside.rsc@gmail.com both just in case it goes to spam of the other email.
