Supporting practicals and events

Supporting practicals and events

We want to promote practical work in schools and colleges across the UK and Ireland; here we highlight the support you can get for practicals in your area.

We provide free access to equipment via the Spectroscopy in a Suitcase programme, and support the popular Salters Festivals of Chemistry. We also offer educational grants for practical activities outside the school timetable.

We advise on policy to support science education and the development of practical skills, and we have a range of documents – including lists of glassware and equipment – to help you plan and budget.

Join the Learn Chemistry Partnership for free to find out about regionally relevant events and make the most of our activities and resources.

We promote, fund, and provide an extensive programme of schools outreach, and we want teachers and event organisers to get involved. Join our community on Talk Chemistry to promote your activities, and keep users of this page posted on how you’re promoting practical work in your school.
