On This Day – January 29 : German chemist Fritz Haber died on this day in 1934

Description

He was awarded the 1918 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his method of creating ammonia from nitrogen (N2) and hydrogen (H2). This discovery is not only important for fertilisers but also explosives. He has since been described as the father of chemical warfare.
