Defining percentage

Percentage is defined as a fraction or ratio with 100 fixed and understood as the denominator, for example 0.98 equals a percentage of 98.

The percentage is simply formed by multiplying a decimal equivalent of a fraction by 100.

When working with percentages it is important to be able to switch between the equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages.

Percentages can be easily be presented in a pictorial way, which can be of benefit to the visual learner.
