Organic Division poster symposium

The RSC Organic Division’s flagship event for early career researchers is going online for 2020.

The competitive virtual poster symposium will bring together outstanding final year organic chemistry PhD students from across the UK and Ireland to present their work to invited representatives from industry and academia. Prizes will be awarded to the best posters including an industry prize awarded to the best research poster showcasing potential for industrial application.

If you are interested in presenting a poster submit your abstract via the online system no later than midnight on 21 September 2020. We will contact successful entrants within one month of the abstract deadline.

Expressions of interest to attend

If you are working in industry or academia and would like to be invited to attend the online event to view the posters and assist in the selection of this year’s prize winners then please complete the expression of interest form by Monday 5th October.
Expressions of interest to participate in the event will be reviewed by the scientific organising committee to ensure a balanced representation of expertise.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of the review process within approximately 3 weeks of the submission deadline.

Abstract Submission
Abstract Submission for the 2020  RSC Organic Division poster symposium is now open.

If you are interested in presenting a poster then please submit your abstract via the online system no later than midnight (BST) on Monday 21 September 2020.  The top 40 abstracts will be invited to present at the poster symposia and will contact successful entrants within one month of the abstract deadline.

Poster presenters will also present a flash presentation, this will be a 1 minute slot with 1 slide that will need to be submitted prior to the event.

As this event is being held as online, we will be using a dedicated online poster platform. If your poster is accepted for this event, you will receive an email from us inviting you log on to the poster platform where you will be able to create an interactive poster. When creating a poster you will be able to choose from a variety of templates, and select colours, backgrounds and fonts, to create a poster specific to your work. The poster can contain text, images, videos and audio recordings, and can include as much detail as you require as content boxes within the templates are not limited to size. You will also have access to video tutorials, showing you how you can create your poster in the platform, and access to email support with the poster platform if you have an specific questions.

Prizes will be awarded for the best poster and two runners up. There will also be an industry prize and participants prize.

Grants for Carers

You can apply for up to a maximum of £1000/year to assist with additional financial costs that you incur for care usually provided by you whilst you attend an online chemistry related meeting, conference or workshop or a professional development event.
