Education Division Scotland
The Education Division Committee in Scotland works to foster the knowledge and understanding of, and an engagement with, all aspects of the Chemical Sciences that relate to learning, teaching and communication.
The Education Division Committee works to support teachers by:
- offering Development Awards of up to £200 to support exciting new activities for learners
- collating teachers views about curricular change
- supporting teacher education events
The Education Division Committee works to raise awareness of the chemical sciences by:
- presenting the Craig Gray Memorial Prize for best SQA Advanced Higher Investigation
- working with the Learned Societies in Scotland to promote Science
- participating in STEM events
The Education Division Committee works to ensuring that we have Chemists for the future by:
- supporting science festivals in rural areas
- taking part in government consultations
- supporting pupil events e.g. Chemistry challenge
