Congratulations to the 2023 Faraday Community Prize Winners
Through its prizes programme, the Faraday Community for Physical Chemistry celebrates the individuals and teams from industry and academia across all career stages who contribute to the advances in physical chemistry as well as recognises the novel discoveries in the field.
Winners are selected by the Faraday Awards Committee, chaired by the Council President.
See all of our winners below:
Faraday Early Career Prize: Marlow Prize
Dr Bryan Bzdek (University of Bristol)
For pioneering contributions to aerosol physical chemistry, including the surface composition of microscopic droplets, new particle formation in the atmosphere, and the physicochemical properties of respiratory aerosols.
Faraday Mid-Career Prize: Bourke-Liversidge Prize
Professor Jan Verlet (Durham University)
For pioneering contributions to the spectroscopy and dynamics of anions in the gas-phase and at aqueous interfaces.
Faraday Open Prize: Faraday Lectureship Prize
Professor Enrique Iglesia (University of California at Berkeley)
For outstanding contributions to the mechanistic understanding of catalysis, leading scientific innovation for environmental protection and the production of energy carriers, fuels, and chemicals.
Electron Bifucation Team
For discovering the essential structural and redox potential landscapes that are required to generate high-efficiency electron bifurcation reactions in flavoproteins.
