Faraday Joint Interest Group Conference
The 3rd Faraday Joint Interest Group Conference took place from 3-5 April in Sheffield.
Twelve RSC Interest Groups participated in the conference, which attracted over 200 delegates from 14 countries and 53 different institutions.
The programme featured 13 themes delivered over four parallel sessions over three days. There were 5 plenary speakers, 12 keynote speakers and 72 contributed speakers and 63 posters presented. Six of the invited speakers were RSC prize winners, five from the Faraday Community for Physical Chemistry and one from the Environment, Sustainability and Energy Community. Faraday Community Council President Dwayne Heard presented the prize winners with their medals.
The programme included three additional sessions from the Royal Society of Chemistry staff, which included “Publishing with Impact”, “Careers in Chemistry” and the outcomes and recommendations from the “Sustainable Laboratories” Report.
The event was highly commended by attendees for the quality of the scientific content and speakers and the additional presentations by RSC staff were well received.
