Division funding
Travel Grants for PhD Students and Early Career Scientists
Division Members can apply to the Analytical Division for a competitive travel grant to attend any scientific conference or workshop anywhere in the world. Grants are available to cover domestic (up to £200), continental (up to £400) and intercontinental (up to £800) travel to meetings where applicants give oral or poster presentations (we will also consider applicants not intending to present if their attendance will be a significant benefit to their career).
Applications are assessed on a monthly basis – please apply online.
Scientific Meetings Grant
Division Members can apply to the Analytical Division for up to £2000 to support your scientific meeting, including (but not limited to) scientifically enhancing your own existing meetings (international speaker expenses, for example) or fully supporting a "no frills" research meeting or workshop.
Applications are judged every 3 months – please apply online.
The Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund (ACTF) is a charity established for the purposes of promoting, assisting and extending the science and study of Analytical Chemistry and of all questions relating to the analysis, nature and composition of natural and manufactured materials for the benefit of the public.
The ACTF supports strategic Analytical Division activities. Trustees are elected members of the Analytical Division Council.
ACTF also funds the Community for Analytical Measurement Science (CAMS) secretariat, lectureships and post docs.
ACTF Travel Grant for Food Analytics Conference
ACTF is launching a travel grant designed to assist PhD students and ECRs (within 5 years of the end of their PhD) to attend the Food Analytics Conference, Copenhagen in November 2022. A grant of £500 will be awarded to successful applicants to contribute to travel and subsistence costs.
The deadline for receipt of applications is July 29, 2022. Please send an email to request further information.
Disruption Grant
ACTF Trustees recognise the disruption that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on analytical science students. We are relaunching a disruption grant of £500 aimed at PhD students whose studies have been adversely affected by the pandemic and need additional monetary support to complete their studiess.
Note, this fund is to support personal costs to help enable students to complete their studies for example rent, or other caring or living costs, and cannot be used for laboratory research costs. Students must be resident in the UK or Republic of Ireland and registered at a University in the UK or Republic of Ireland.
Applicants will be assessed upon receipt and the call will remain open until the budget has been allocated.
