King Charles confirms patronage of Royal Society of Chemistry
Marking the anniversary of his coronation, the Royal household has communicated that His Majesty King Charles III has confirmed his patronage of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
RSC chief executive, Dr Helen Pain MBE said: “This is a proud moment to reflect on both the legacy of our royal charter – which stretches back to Queen Victoria’s reign in the nineteenth century – and its future, through which chemistry will continue to innovate, inspire and improve all of our lives.
"I am very grateful that His Majesty The King has chosen to grant us the same honour his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II did for so many years.”
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was our patron for almost seven decades and had a close association with our community, alongside her husband, the late Duke of Edinburgh, who we were honoured to welcome as the first Honorary Fellow of one of our founding societies, the Royal Institute of Chemistry, in 1952.
