Birthday honours for members of the chemical sciences community

His Majesty King Charles III has issued his Birthday Honours, celebrating the contribution of well-known personalities, government employees and ordinary people who have served their community - this year's list includes a number from the chemical sciences community.

• Professor John Thomas Sirr Irvine CChem FRSC. Professor of Chemistry, University of St Andrews. For services to the Green Economy.
• Professor Rachel Ann Mills FRSC Senior Vice President, King's College London. For services to Marine Science. 
• Professor Terry K Smith CChem FRSC, Director of Biomedical Sciences Research Complex (BSRC) University of St Andrews. For services to disease research.

OBE

• Professor Matt Rosseinsky FRS FRSC, from the University of Liverpool, Department of Chemistry and Materials Innovation Factory, for services to materials chemistry research and innovation.
• Professor Dudley Edmund Shallcross CChem FRSC. Lately Chief Executive Officer, Primary Science Teaching Trust, Bristol. For services to Education.

MBE

• Professor Robert Paul Tooze CChem FRSC FRSE. Honorary Professor, University of St Andrews. For services to Science and Industry.
