David Everett
David spent 38 years teaching chemistry at secondary level. Now retired, he works part time as a consultant, mainly in the area of teacher professional development. His particular interest lies in encouraging practical laboratory work.
David has been involved in several projects for the Royal Society of Chemistry, including the Chemistry for Non-Specialists and the Developing Expertise in Teaching courses. He mentors RSC initial teacher training scholars in the London region and was involved in an RSC project to develop active learning in schools in India.
David also delivers courses for STEM Learning and from 2011–2014 he taught a subject knowledge enhancement course at the University of Hertfordshire.
David’s other interests include classical music, gardening, bird watching and cooking – he was a contestant on the BBC TV programme ‘MasterChef’.
