Industry Technician of the Year 2016 Winner
Barry Coope has made an exceptional contribution in leading development of the Coordinating European Council (CEC) elastomer tests that form part of the new motor industry manufacturers (ACEA) specifications for the next generation of higher performing engine oils within Europe.
Barry has worked for Lubrizol on the Hazelwood Site within the testing arena for over 40 years. His long distinguished service is remarkable itself and the contribution Barry makes has impacted the global Testing Division, Lubrizol's commercial business and the wider lubricant industry. He was nominated by his peers in the industry to lead the CEC elastomer testing group and received Lubrizol's highest accolade in 2013 when he gained the Founders Award. He has generously shared his depth of technical knowledge by training new staff, serving as a tour guide and by producing a unique guide to used oil analysis.
