Through its prizes programme, the Materials Chemistry Community celebrates the individuals and teams from industry and academia across all career stages who contribute to the advances in physical chemistry as well as recognises the novel discoveries in the field.
Winners are selected by the Materials Chemistry Community Awards Committee, chaired by the Council President.

For seminal contributions to the understanding of defect chemistry in semiconducting materials and interfacial energetics in photocatalytic and photovoltaic devices.
Materials Chemistry Mid-Career Prize: Peter Day Prize
Professor Sohini Kar-Narayan (University of Cambridge)
For advancing research in functional polymers and nanocomposites, and their application in energy, sensing and biomedicine using microscale additive manufacturing.
Materials Chemistry Open Prize: de Gennes Prize
Professor Thuc-Quyen Nguyen (University of California, Santa Barbara)
For seminal contributions to the development of organic semiconducting materials and device physics of organic photovoltaics to mitigate climate change.
