John is an analytical chemistry consultant with 30 years experience with GSK. John has a track record of developing and delivering robust analytical control strategies for API and Drug product to manufacturing and authoring CMC regulatory submissions.
John holds a Ph.D in analytical chemistry from Aston University, UK working on NMR technique development and began his career at GSK as an NMR spectroscopist. John then led separation science teams developing analytical CMC strategies both in API and drug product supporting clinical and commercial phases of development. This was underpinned by the development of a phase appropriate method development strategy which supported flexible regulatory filing and the transfer of robust methods to manufacturing. John’s role prior to leaving GSK was the analytical head of the Global External Development and Supply department. He also took a key role in establishing a baseline data integrity risk assessment in support of third parties carrying out manufacturing and contract analytical work for GSK.
John has experience of conducting due diligence assessments for potential in-licensed assets.
John has published a number of papers, presented at international conferences, written a chapter in a pharmaceutical analysis book and is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a chartered chemist.
John now works as a CMC pharmaceutical consultant specializing in pharmaceutical analysis, data integrity and CMC regulatory affairs.
