A renewable energy consultant specialising in the technologies of landfilling and anaerobic digestion, Bob is a commercially focused consultant with an international reputation and has over 27 years’ experience working with clients ranging from large multinationals to small businesses. He specialises in renewable energy services and waste and resource management throughout the project life cycle. Bob is an expert in providing strategic and technical advice in landfill gas, and anaerobic digestion, and throughout his career he has led project teams in some of the most well-respected Environmental Consultancies in Europe.
His career highlights include the development of the GasSim regulatory tool for landfill gas management (1999–2013); a decade of landfill surface emissions and gas engine stack emissions research and subsequent production of technical guidance (1994–2004); service on the EA ACUMEN project for late life landfill management (2013–15), and chair of the not-for-profit Waste Conference (2000–10).
He was honoured to represent UK Government on Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) projects and was Review Editor of the Waste Management chapter of the IPCC's Fourth Assessment Report. This monumental report secured for the IPCC the Nobel Peace Prize 2007 (shared with Al Gore) and he is one of the specialists on that report team entitled to hold a copy of the Nobel Peace Prize Certificate awarded to the IPCC.
