Trevor Gauntlett has over 25 years’ experience in blue chip oil and chemicals companies, of which 18 years was as the signatory of technical specifications for Lubricants additives purchases worth over 1 billion dollars per annum. He has extensive experience of Procurement, Supply Chain and Product Management through his membership over 15 years of a global team covering these activities. This experience provides the basis for the core of his consulting activities: providing advice to Chemicals companies about selling their products as additives into Lubricants and Greases or to Lubricants and Grease manufacturers on making procurement decisions.
Exploiting the synergy between chemical HSE and technical specification, he managed a team that provided HSE support to the largest Lubricants business in the world. This included leading the dialogue with suppliers about understanding and mitigating the impacts of (for example) new hazard data from the EPA’s HPV programme, REACH and GHS, among many other global legislative changes. He also led the process development and implementation for REACH and GHS compliance; collaborating with Product Stewardship to ensure the correct and timely communication of HSE information to customers, OEMs and regulatory authorities. Trevor also managed the company’s formulary and Lubricants Quality System. This led to working on the IP aspects of divestments, including working as a member of the core team on one significant divestment: handing over Intellectual Property and Confidential Business Information at the buyer’s Head Office upon completion of the transaction.
