Voting open in RSC elections as members get chance to select new President
RSC members are urged to submit their ballots ahead of the 23 May deadline to ensure they have their say on the identity of our next President.
Voters will decide who will fill 11 posts across the RSC leadership structure, with the most prominent being the role of President. Duncan Graham, Robert Mokaya and Annie Powell are the three contenders to take the top job.
Meanwhile, a host of positions across our boards and our Subject Community Councils are also up for grabs, with a total of 58 candidates standing in total.
The deadline for voting is 5pm UK time on Thursday, 23 May, with many members having already submitted their ballots since voting opened on 29 April.
Members should go to https://www.mi-event.info/event/rscelections2024 to view the candidates standing in all Royal Society of Chemistry elections and make their choices. You can view candidate statements through our website, http://rsc.li/vacancies-elections
All RSC members should have now been contacted by our election partners, Mi-Voice, with information on how to vote online. If you have not already received an email from elections@mi-voice.com, please check your spam mailbox in the first instance before contacting Mi-Voice.
The winner of the RSC Presidency vote will be announced next month and will serve in the post between 2026 and 2028. Dr Annette Doherty OBE is set to take over from existing President Prof Gill Reid on 1 July, at the conclusion of our Annual General Meeting.
The successful candidates for the slew of other roles will be announced at the AGM and will take up their posts immediately after its conclusion.
