Chemistry for our future resources - Cross Cutting Themes
Chemistry for Our Future had two Cross Cutting Themes: careers awareness and sharing good practice.
For the careers aspect, specific careers fairs were conducted, directed at raising awareness of the opportunities available. Career profiles were also produced, detailing the career paths and the day-to-day activities of early-career chemists. A DVD of careers information, Reactiv8, was also produced and distributed to school teachers.
Dissemination and sharing of good practice took place through annual conferences and via the CFOF newsletters. As part of this work, a study into ethnic diversity in chemistry and physics was conducted as well as a report on the career destinations of chemistry graduates in the UK.
